Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father's dive bar... in Washington.

Pipers hasn't even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won't last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can't do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She's determined to show her stepfather- and the hot, grumpy local- that she's more than a pretty face.

Excepts it's a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there's an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn't want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan- and this town full of memories- may have already caught her heart.

Review:
Do you remember that feeling you used to get when your crush would look your way and notice you? You would try to contain all of the giddiness and butterflies inside, but it was such a big feeling that it would just slip out in the form of an awkward laugh or smile?! Yeah that's how this book made me feel and quite honestly still makes me feel just thinking about it right now.

The character of Piper is inspired by the character Alexis from Schitt's Creek (amazing show, go watch it) and Tessa Bailey did an amazing job with the "It Girl" factor while also keeping Piper relatable and vulnerable. Her personality popped off of the pages and sucked you into her life as she was experiencing it.

"That sparkle was positivity and life and promise of better things, and she always, always had it, glowing within the blue of her irises, lighting up the room"

Brendan has now become one of my top five book boyfriends. He's so unbelievably out of practice when Piper and Hannah get to Westport he ends up snapping at her and can't understand his feelings for her. BUT, once he figures out what he wants... damn, he means business.

"Don't go sniffing around the older one. Piper,' Brendan muttered, 'And don't ask me to explain why, either."

Piper's main struggle was seeing her own self worth and like a real man, Brendan was her #1 supporter.  By far one of my favorite things about this book is the relationship that Brendan and Piper have. He reads her so well and makes sure she opens up to him instead of letting her off the hook when she tries to play off what's happening between them. He encourages her to be her true self, never making her feel anything less than worshipped. The chemistry was delicious and the smut should win a damn award.

"You can wrap me as tight as you want around that little finger, but I won't play games about what this is. Get me, Piper?"

"This bed isn't strong enough to survive what I'm going to do to you."

If you haven't read this book yet, do it. If you have read it, buy a physical copy (bought mine immediately after finishing) and read it again with me. This is one of those books that you can come back to over and over again and just feel at home. From the writing style to the dialogue, the story, characters, relationship between the characters and the smut, lovable side characters, this book had it all.

Hannah and Fox's story is expected to release March 1, 2022 and I'm ready to see their romance develop since we get snippets of them from Piper and Brendan's story.
