He's a myth. A ghost. A legend.
A Bratva assassin so feared, some won't even dare to speak his name.
He comes in search of vengeance for the death of his brother, but what he finds instead is me.
A girl he thinks is someone else.
Someone unrelated to the man who killed his brother.
Except I am.
And when he finds out my true identity, he decides to take me as repayment for what he lost.
Now, I'm a little bird trapped in a cage, and the only way to survive is to make friends with the monster who captured me.
Except friendship isn't what the monster has in mind.
Review:
Possible spoilers ahead. Special thanks to Social Butterfly PR and JT Geissinger for this ARC.
J.T. Geissinger does it again! After reading Carnal Urges when it came out, I was convinced I couldn't love any other characters as much as I loved Sloane and Declan. I was wrong! Declan will always be my first love, but Mal is a super close second!
Savage Hearts has several chapters that are told from the POV of Declan and Kage. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, but J.T. is a mastermind. She's setting up these stories perfectly to ultimately come together in a badass showdown at the end and I AM HERE FOR IT!
Riley is our heroine, she's Sloane's sister and gives Sloane some serious competition in character lovability. She's a smartass, quirky, the very opposite of Sloane and yet so much like her I found myself thinking how alike they were. Her inner monologues had me cracking up so many times, I kept getting weird looks from my family.
"I wonder if my sister will mind when I start calling her fiancé Daddy?
I wasn't sure what I would think of Malek at the beginning of this, but I fell in love with his danger, sarcasm, caring side and of course that alpha that all of these men have in spades. He's intrigued from the start with Riley and doesn't know what to do with those feelings, he has morals, yet he also knows what his job has made him into.
"I would never take advantage like that. I'm a psychopath, not a pervert. I believe strongly in consent.'
"Well, that's tremendous news! I feel so much better now."
I loved seeing Killian again (hey, sexy) and getting more information on the Thirteen. The book that brings all of these gangsters together is going to be amazing! My only complaint was that Spyder almost began to be the bad guy, which broke my heart since I've loved Spyder in these books. FORTUNATELY, we find out that he'll be our 4th book in this series. TAKE MY MONEY NOW J.T.!! I'm ready for the continuation of this exciting series. We'll get more of those devilishly sexy Irishmen, be introduced to more of the Italian mob, set up assassinations with the dangerous Russians and get to drool over some of the best book boyfriends around!.
If you haven't read the first two books in this series, go back and start at the beginning. You won't regret it and it will just hype you up even more for what's to come!
