Blindsided: A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone by Amy Daws

⭐⭐⭐⭐

While reading this book, I got some 40 year old Virgin vibes. We're introduced to Freya, a very shy seamstress and Mac a Scottish footballer that meet at a fitting. While Freya normally has trouble talking to guys, everything just flows with Mac and the two soon become best friends, spending most of their time watching Netflix and bickering. Freya's self confidence is lacking, but with Mac there making sure she sees herself the way he does, their chemistry continues to grow.

“Your size and your shape are bonnie, and you don’t need to trip over your words in front of a guy you fancy because you should never doubt how beautiful you are.”

After an innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Freya confesses to being an almost 30 year old virgin. It's hard to play a game when you don't know what half of the stuff means, right?! Mac, being the considerate guy he is, offers to teach Freya about sex. With feelings developing and situations getting spicy, things seem to be on the right track, but what happens when Mac's life is changed?

“You’ve always been like this,” he growls, facing forward and shaking his head in disgust. “You sit around and wait for life to happen to you instead of grabbing it for yourself. It’s why you’re going to end up alone.”

Amy Daws did an amazing job at making me fall in love with the characters and I am excited to read about the Harris Brothers. Check out this sweet treat here, along with the Harris Brother's Series
